[Activity] Japanese Swordsmithing Experience

The Japanese sword is not merely a weapon, but a presence that embodies Japan’s history, aesthetic sensibility, and spiritual depth.
In this programme, in addition to a lecture by master swordsmith Mr. Shimajima Fusachū (covering history, philosophy, and methods of forging), you will observe the actual forging process within his workshop.
As Mr. Shimajima proceeds through each stage of the work before your eyes, participants will also, under strict safety supervision, have the opportunity to strike the steel themselves.
By standing in the presence of fire and iron, you will come to understand the essence of sword-making through all five senses.
