What is Hikizome?
Hikizome is a traditional Japanese dyeing technique where fabric is stretched on a board and brushed with dye to layer colors.
Although the process looks simple, the artisan’s experience and sensibility create subtle variations in tone—even with the same colors, each piece becomes unique.
In this workshop, you will learn how to prepare dyes and brush them onto the fabric under expert guidance, creating your own colors and completing your original piece. Finished works will be dried, fixed, and delivered (either pickup or shipping).
